5 key to self-love

Image
The last article on my website  Should we fall in love  focused on falling in love more often. This is the continuation in the series and emphasizes on what and how's of loving ourselves. Self-love is important to feel worthy, loved, and happy. So, the five keys to self-love are- 1.Understanding self-love- Loving oneself does not mean being perfect. The basic idea is to accept ourselves and then focus on improvising. Instead of waiting for another person to love you, better love yourself. 2.Away from toxics- Before cultivating habits to inculcate self-love, its important we dump habits that are doing bad to us. In a way, it develops the idea that we are important and nothing shall drag us down. It includes avoiding toxic people, eating less junk, not gossiping, etc. 3.Self-care- Numerous blog posts and youtube videos have been posted in this context. Drinking a cup of warm beverage, soaking in a warm bath, taking care of our skin, journalizing are just a handful of ways to self-c

Should we fall in love?

I fell in love a few days back!  Well, it was for lines that I read. It goes like-       "you are a mirror     if you continue to starve yourself of love               you will only meet people    who"ll starve you too      if you soak yourself in love     the universe will hand you those     who"ll love you too."                   - RUPI KAUR . It is so true and the writer has put it so beautifully in words that I have read this a hell lot of times after the first encounter. I thought the idea was worthy enough and could be talked about in a post. Well, it is not easy to fall in love, indeed we even fear to love ourselves. There is this constant fear of heartbreak and the recession that follows. So instead we choose to fall for materialistic things, for example, the car we want to buy, the ring we wear, books and the list goes on. What can rather be done is that we can start small and love deeply and firstly our parents. The ones who love and care for us selflessly

5 reasons you should keep your parents close.

P arents are treasures. They are amazing people who support us.Even if we don't resonate much with them because of the age gap, we shall always keep them close and adore them. There are tonnes of reason we should do that. Here are the most convincing ones. 1.THEY ARE FAMILY There is something about relationships we are born with !They are probably the least selfish and the most nurturing ones.  It is always important in life to keep a certain set of people close to us,what's better then that finding them right at our homes. These can be the most natural bonding. 2.Success There are researches that actually  claim that here is a link between financial suc cess and ones relationship with their parents.May be this is because of the responsibility  one feel  for their parents. 3.Love,warmth and support Yeah!We are social beings. We all need people who support us.We need people who care for us and for whom we care. This, most certainly is essential for growth.

Internet fasting not intermittent fasting!

YES! that is true. This post is about limiting our internet usage (mainly social media) for all the good reasons. All these platforms (Instagram, Facebook, what's an app) have been designed to be addictive. See, you first get a good snap, then filter or edit it, then you post it, and then you constantly check the reviews or likes you get (a lot of work). I read this book named  "Deep Work"  and there is an entire section in it about restricting internet use. That's a great book by the way. Though for many of us, quitting social media altogether can sound too much but that can be the solution to a lot of our problems and there are many ways we can put it to ACTION. 1. Quitting social media for a week or month The strategy is nothing new. People have used this strategy. You stop using social media for a particular time(probably longer than a week). That might feel painful in the beginning but you will thank yourself later. It frees your mind from the constant comparison

Why is everyone gushing over turmeric.

Turmeric is a new trend. Maybe not new but a trend. There are a lot of Pinterest and blogs already on how to include this in our diet. Most of its popularity boils down to it having great anti-inflammatory properties. It has already made an appearance on shelves of a lot of grocery stores in many countries. The benefits of turmeric are just not limited to physical benefits. It has been proven to improve memory and mood. Now curcumin is the constituent to be appreciated for its incredible health benefits but turmeric just contains 3% of curcumin. Often curcumin, not turmeric is used for testing the benefits of turmeric.  Besides having anti-inflammatory properties, it is a powerful antioxidant. This is not the only Indian spice that's extremely healthy. There is also ginger, black pepper, cinnamon to name a few. The best thing about spices is they provide flavor while adding no calories, hence ideal for weight loss. Also, turmeric adds beautiful color to a dish. Turmeric is most de

What is the problem with Chetan Bhagat.

Now I have read a few books of Chetan Bhagat because I happen to have them because of my cousins. This is a very honest review of some of his books and other Indian writers like Durjoy Dutta and Ravinder Singh. I have read    Revolution 2020 ,  I too had a love story, Love that feels right , Can love happen twice , half girlfriend  . I feel a lot of these books feel like reading the script of Bollywood movies. Except for being interesting and an easy read, I feel these books lack language and story. He is good with his marketing strategy (an IIM graduate) and knows what the audience wants that has made him the figure that he is. Also, I feel reading nonfiction is always better than fiction. Never the less writing 10,000 words are not easy. Hence they are books you would want to read in leisure time and for a rather easy read. Indeed they are a great substitute for watching movies but not a great read. Among all these books "Revolution 2020" is the best though being one of Che

Why shall I read when I can consume great content online? Well, it is not an old school to read. It is different to read from the screen and to read a physical book.  Brainy is the new sexy!!  Here are three books that I read and found amazing. Well, this list includes just three books so you can be sure that they are really impressive. 1.Deep Work by Cal Newport Now, Cal Newport is an amazing writer. If you are looking forward to a self-help book to help you with your work. This the book you don't want to miss. 2.Chanakya Neeti I guess every Indian shall read this book. It will provide you a great perspective. Though everything is not agreeable and you shall not follow everything said but then what the heck is a brain for! 3.How to stop worrying and start living by Dale Carnegie Another self-help book. I feel it is something you would want to read slowly and especially read it when every time seems to go wrong.
